Here’s a Shortcut to Increased Productivity
Have you ever struggled to be more disciplined?
You know you have an important project due, but you wait until the last possible minute?
Or maybe you adopted new work habits, such as preparing an agenda for the next day (the night before). You use it with great results for a few weeks… but shortly thereafter you go back to your old ways!
You blame your lack of discipline and say: “I’ve never been a disciplined person” or “I wish I had good discipline…”
And you know what?
It’s true.
You might lack discipline.
In this video I show you 4 super simple, FREE strategies to increase your discipline SO THAT you can create the MOMENTUM to continue progressing towards the bigger goals in YOUR life.
-
- Be clear – Yes! Be clear on what you want to do and more importantly get clear on WHY. By this I mean ask yourself why, what’s the payoff of doing this and then write it down.
- Connect with the payoff – YES, emotionally connect with the payoff you identified when you are clear on step 1.
- Schedule time on your calendar – NOT on your head.
“Do not wait for discipline to strike, it rarely does.
That bitch is very elusive”Schedule time on your calendar every single day – even 20-minute blocks of uninterrupted time to work on what matters will move the needle.
Think about 20 minutes of working out if your goal is to get stronger. Or cooking a meal if your goal is to eat healthier. Or 20 minutes every day of working on that report (that is not due yet) if your goal is to do a phenomenal job. This is not much to ask!
- Celebrate – This might sound unimportant but it’s not.One week of 20-minute blocks of focused work is worth celebrating.
In a recent article published in Psychology Today, the author mentions that celebrating even the smallest accomplishments helps cement the practice you are aiming to become a discipline.
There you have it. The biggest shortcut to increase your productivity is by creating discipline around the things you want to accomplish.
